For years, adoption of 3-D technology has been hampered by the cumbersome viewing glasses needed to properly perceive the , not to mention the loss in market share of people who have suffered the injury or loss of one of their . Indeed. This falls flat big time.
They really need to intersperse real stories in with the lame April fools ones, and make at least some of the April fools ones plausible.
It would draw in the crowd of people who mostly ignore Slashdot once the April fools stuff starts up and might add a bit more humour to the April fools stories as people wouldn’t immediately assume they were jokes.
People might have to think about whether the articles are plausible. You’d need to have an extra line that _clearly_

Id also add that google's "internet through the sewer thing" back in "the day" actually got me. This is the kind of good April fools joke. On the surface it seemed plausible. I actually started going: "hey, that kinda makes sense.. " before I caught on.
The "zomg Microsoft is using the linux kernel in the next release of windows and is decomissioning internet explorer in favour of google chrome" type stories have no humor value to me. Even less so when, as you said, they just come as a constant stream.

No kidding. The only sporting events I'll watch are live, and even then only when my kids are the ones playing. If that makes Netflix a back door way of getting the benefit of a la carte pricing, I'm all for it.

First, two polarizing filters in series will filter out all the light.
. /cheap to manufacture because of its hardness and would be far heavy enough to be uncomfortable to wear given that you have to squint to keep it in place. Titanium would have been a much better choice!
Second, tungsten carbide is not lightweight! Tungsten carbide is very heavy, dense, and extremely hard material. It is often used for cutting hardened steel. Its not easy

I was surprised to see it listed as one of the worst TV series of all time. It took me a while to realize that people were objecting to Jews making fun of Germans, like that was devaluing the holocaust or something. Odd.

Yeah, weird. Werner Klemperer was 1/2 Jewish, the guy who played LeBeua (Robert Clary) was in a concentration camp, John Banner was Jewish, etc.
A large chunk of the cast was Jewish, and agreed that the way the situation was handled was OK. The producers, directors and writers were very careful about, from what I heard. The Germans were shown as real twits.
Though Schultz was the most sympathetic, more "the Kraut who rather be drinking beer and eating bratwurst" type.

You can get a 3D effect by darkening one eye using the Pulfrich effect [wikipedia.org]. Back in 1993 the BBC had a special 3D week where using 3D glasses with one clear eye and one darkened eye. Shows shot in a specific way would look 3D with the glasses but appear normal to users without the glasses.
They even did a 3D Dr Who Special [thetardisv...reen.co.uk].
