I thought about trying something like this a while ago, but since I don't have a job, it's more or less impossible to purchase a Furby. Especially at those outrageous pre-Christmas prices. 'Eh, what'cha gunna do?
  • I have this image in my head of a thundering herd of furbies who's combined powers can calculate all the digits of Pi in 3.14 seconds.
  • i just tried the hackfurby link and it gave me a 404 Not Found. anyone know where it really is?
  • There's a guy on the IDM mailing list by the nickname of Solenoid who apparently modified his Furby to produce random digital noise, ala EAR's Speak n Spell experiments.

He said something about shorting between 8 and 9 on the PCB while it's talking.
  • That definitely is an Orbital shirt. I got it at their show in Dallas back in 97 (? I think).

I also have a Spring Heel Jack shirt, they opened. I saw them later on and bought the shirt then.

I didn't know the shirts were available through CDNow. I get this question a lot, I'll put some text on my page about it, maybe with a link to CDNow so I can cash in. :)

Have I mentioned I have great taste in music? :) Check out the link to my record label's website (www.sonictherapy.com).

  • I wonder if my sister would let me "borrow" her Furby.... too-lah-me-kah! heh
  • ever hear about the scenario a few years ago where a fringe feminist group switched the voice hardware in a couple dozen talking barbies and talking GI joes?

EAR are Experimental Audio Research, a band(?!), well project led by a mr.Sonic Boom, formerly of a british 80's band named Spacemen 3 [no-fi.com], whose music would probably be called 60's drone rock, but whose music had searing beauty behind it all, and incidently, Jason Spaceman went onto form Spiritualized [dedicated.co.uk]. A write-up of the album is here [no-fi.com], basically imagine a few speak'n'spells added with modulators, pitch-shift it a bit, and record the noise it makes......
    excellent music, btw.
  • So when is d.net gonna port an rc564 client???

Think of how fast we could smash rc564 with
    a flock of crackfurbies!!!
