Steam Deck Delayed, Valve Apologizes (kotaku.com) 27
Valve has delayed the release of its Steam Deck handheld by several months, it announced in a statement today. The anticipated handheld will now start rolling out in February 2022, pushed back from an initial December release. Kotaku reports: "We're sorry about this -- we did our best to work around the global supply chain issues, but due to material shortages, components aren't reaching our manufacturing facilities in time for us to meet our initial launch dates," Valve wrote. "Based on our updated build estimates, Steam Deck will start shipping to customers February 2022. This will be the new start date of the reservation queue -- all reservation holders keep their place in line but dates will shift back accordingly." The word's origin is from put together, not put two things together. If you put two things together with three things you're coupling the groups, but you end up with five things.

What sucks about this is that AMD will likely be releasing their Zen 4 processors in Q3 2022. That means that the 2020 era Zen 2 based processor in this product will likely be a full 2 generations behind before I even receive it.

Very true. Try ordering enterprise level Cisco gear. We ordered stuff in April/May that still won't be here until December. Supposedly things are improving though and now the wait time is only 6 months for most new orders.
