Touchscreen Project For PSP 27

Croakyvoice writes "Jube, who is an electronics engineer, has today posted 2 videos of his Touchscreen Project for the PSP. Basically, he has replaced the LCD Screen in the PSP with a Touchscreen of the same size. The videos show the touchscreen in action. The project's aims are also to increase battery life and feature a re-designed control pad. The Homebrew Community again leads the way on Sony's Handheld for innovation."

    Riiight.

Now a PSP can be more like an internet tablet..

  • That sure was quick!
  • I don't remember when the last time was that I bought a consumer electronics device from Sony. It could be never before. Aside from my nearly 10-year old CD480 Headphones which are starting to fall apart and are still the best headphones I've ever listend to music or computer sounds with.

Anyway: Two weeks ago I - after long thoughts, consideration, doubt and evaluation - finally bought a PSP. I had considered getting a DS, since I've got two GBA SPs allreay, but in the end the bizar price-point of the DS (

    • Sadly, you've almost reached the bottom of the good games on the official release list.

I love the console, but if it wasn't for my taste for nippon ichi games, i'd not be using the PSP for anything much.. except perhaps homebrew and converted ps1 games.

your post made me smile, im glad you are so impressed with your PSP :)

I cant wait till you get a PS3 though, hehe, games like Metal Gear Solid 4 will really impress you with the theatrics, the long cut scenes, the voice acting etc. It has an epic scene or two and one bit where a main character is dead only to come back again and.....I really dont want to spoil it for you anyway. After the credits there is a simply wonderful scene.

Actually, if you play MGS3 Snake Eater first, its simply wonderful, that

    • All - mostly baseless - bickering about proprietary UMDs aside, I consider the PSP the best portable entertainment device ever. The DS to me more than ever comes across as a total money ripp-off and I've come to see Nintendo with quite a bit more scepsis than before.

This seems to me to be a bit of a baseless statement as you don't give the impression of ever having played a DS, so how can you make this comparison? The DS, although technically inferior in specs, is a great little handheld with some excellent games, and many of them use touchscreen far better than most Wii games use the motion control. The DS has always been at this price, because it's still selling, the PSP when it came out sold for much, much more, you can't really blame Nintendo for not lowering the p
