Submission + - Wikipedia parent ditching GoDaddy for MarkMonitor (networkworld.com)

netbuzz writes: "The Wikimedia Foundation, following through on a pledge made late last year by Jimmy Wales during the fight against SOPA, yesterday publicly acknowledged that it is in the middle of transferring all of its domain names from GoDaddy to MarkMonitor as punishment for GoDaddy’s having backed the failed anti-piracy legislation (at least early on). GoDaddy had nothing to say about the loss of Wikimedia’s business, but did issue a statement explaining how it will judge any future anti-piracy legislation. It concludes: “ we will form our position based on the language of the bill and the support of the Internet community.”"
