+ - Dvorak layout not superior to QWERTY->

Submitted by Michael Pyne
Michael Pyne writes: Reason Online has an interesting article taking apart the argument that the Dvorak keyboard layout is a superior technology to QWERTY. This is brought up in the context of trying to argue against the conventional wisdom that the first product to market gains a large entrenchment benefit (e.g. VHS vs. Beta, MS-DOS vs. anything, etc.)

Being the first major standardized keyboard layout, QWERTY is not likely to be "ideal" for most, but how bad is it really?
