An anonymous reader writes: Earlier in the year Mozilla announced that it would block tracking cookies by default. The online ad industry hasn't gotten them to back down, so now it's trying a new strategy: lobbying Congress. Four Republican lawmakers have written a letter to Mozilla urging it to drop the new privacy protections. What will happen as the open-source community and Washington politics collide? I, for one, can't wait to see how Mozilla responds.
