windfarms paid to not generate electricity

  • "...the grid network could not absorb all the energy they generated." Sounds to me like the electric grid was poorly engineered. That, or they might need to make some eco-fanboy's dreams come true and shut down some "dirty" power plants to offset the output of the wind turbines.
