  • Something that big I don't think we'd build on Earth and move to orbit, it'd have to be built in space. Why you neeed to mine Jupiter for fuel when the moon is covered in He3, I dunno. It might be for the hundreds of tons of fuel it needs.

    All in all a 50 year trip, we need to drop autonomous sats and rovers that could find interesting things to look at and send back images.

  • The story submission sounds interesting. But the story link points only to a Flash-based slideshow. I did some digging at the Discovery.com web site and found what I think is the real article, which links to the slideshow, and includes the details mentioned in the story about nuclear pulse propulsion, etc.
