The 1.2 million square foot campus will be one of the biggest in the history of the data center industry. Microsoft converted a long time ago. Unfortunately, they suffered a methane meltdown sometime around 2012 that contaminated their production floor.
I'm rather surprised you didn't catch a whiff of this while running Windows 8...
