An anonymous reader writes "A research scientist at Georgia Tech has created a 3D scanner app for the iPhone which uses the phone's screen as a light source to quickly capture digital 3D models of faces and other objects. The app, called Trimensional, can output directly to a 3D printer to make physical copies of objects, which a few people have alreadytried. An Android version is in the works."
If a 6600 used paper tape instead of core memory, it would use up tape
at about 30 miles/second.
